Controlling crime is the top priority: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan) July 22 (ANI): Reviewing the law and order situation in the state through video conference, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that crime control is the top priority of the state government. During the meeting, he directed that the police should conduct an effective campaign to nab the criminals who commit heinous crimes. This will instill people's confidence in the police. The Chief Minister also directed to formulate a new policy to make the process of issuing arms licenses more rational and transparent in the state, so that the process could be made undisputed. The Chief Minister instructed police officials to take strict action against the elements who are spreading misinformation on various social media platforms. Reviewing the issue of women's security, the CM said that police should adopt a sensitive attitude in harassment cases. In such cases, strict action should be taken against the culprits by registering the cases immediately along with providing security and legal aid to the victims. The CM Gehlot underlined that the government has implemented the policy of 'free registration' for mandatory FIRs. Special research units have been constituted in each district for speedy investigation of cases of harassment of women and special monitoring units for investigation and prevention of heinous crimes. The Rajasthan CM also expressed satisfaction regarding improving law and order in the state.
