Coronavirus pandemic: Hotel industry bears massive loss in India

Chennai/ Mumbai/ Pune (Maharashtra), Mar 18 (ANI): Hotels and restaurants have been shut in different states in wake of pandemic coronavirus. The hotels in Chennai were deserted due to fear of coronavirus transmission. Meanwhile, hotel business in Maharashtra was badly hit by the disease. Being the worst-hit state of India, Maharashtra has recorded 39 cases including a death. HRAWI president, Gurbaxish Singh Kohli said, "It's the worst time for hotel and restaurant industry. The Indian government has taken swift action against the spread of disease." Hotels in Pune and Mumbai were empty on March 18. Government advisory on coronavirus was seen in hotels. India has recorded 153 positive cases of coronavirus so far.
