COVID-19 lockdown: Lack of basic amenities force patients to stay in night shelters

New Delhi, Apr 20 (ANI): Amid extended nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19, many patients and their attendants are left stranded outside prestigious All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) hospital in a night shelter due to lack of amenities. Patients those who were scheduled for appointment prior to implementation of lockdown are now nowhere to go as they don’t have access to transportation and basic amenities which force them to accommodate in a night shelter. For these people, life has come to a standstill and left with nowhere to go as they hope for relaxation from the lockdown to move ahead in life. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended nationwide lockdown till May 03.
