COVID-19: Pune’s young engineers racing against time to make low-cost ventilators to save lives

Pune (Maharashtra), Apr 01(ANI): Amid COVID-19 virus spreading its legs in the country and people are getting infected daily by this dreadful virus, a group of youngsters are working to develop low-cost ventilators for the patients of the virus. These young engineers are from country’s top engineering schools belongs to a recently opened start-up in Pune called NOCCA Robotics PVT. Ltd. Ventilators are playing a vital role in the fight against the virus as patients with the worst effect of the virus infection; a ventilator offers the best chance of survival. The COVID-19 patient who is seriously ill can have breathing difficulties. Hence, the ventilator gives the patient time to fight off the infection and recover. The prototype ventilators are being tested on artificial lungs, a prosthetic device that provides oxygen and removes carbon dioxide from the blood.
