“Delhi to Jaipur in 2 hours”: PM to inaugurate Sohna-Dausa stretch of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on 12 Feb

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Sohna-Dausa stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Feb 12. The expressway was expected to be inaugurated on Feb 4. Taking to Twitter, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari informed about the change in the date. It is expected to reduce the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to around two hours The Sohna (Haryana)-Dausa (Rajasthan) stretch is the first leg of the new Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. As part of Phase-I of the programme, 27 Greenfield corridors are planned with an overall length of 9,000+ km. About 1,390 km, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be India's longest expressway, and will reduce travel time between Delhi and Mumbai from 24 hours to 12 hours. As a part of Bharatmala Pariyojana, it is expected to be completed March 2023. The eight-lane expressway, expandable to 12 lanes, covers Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
