District admin provides doorstep delivery of ration in Udhampur

Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 25 (ANI): District Administration Udhampur has initiated unique service to ensure food to each household in district. The administration started ‘Ration on Wheels’ service to give doorstep delivery to each ration card holder. Under Public Distribution System, ration card holders get grains on low cost. A volunteer said, “A scheme has been initiated here by Deputy Commissioner, called ‘ration on wheels’. Due to coronavirus people are asked to stay home and the market is closed. People are facing challenges are they are not receiving basic commodities. So we are packing and delivering food at doorsteps.” People are living in lockdown in country as the positive cases of coronavirus pandemic are continuously mounting.
