Oct 23, 2025

PoJK\London, UK, 23 October 2025: - Seventy-eight years have passed since the Pakistani Army’s illegal invasion of Jammu and Kashmir on 22nd October 1947, but the pain remains raw among the people of the region. What Pakistan calls a “tribal uprising” is remembered by survivors as a brutal military onslaught that killed thousands, divided families, and left generations in grief. In a passionate appeal, Dr. Amjad Ayub Mirza, a London-based political activist from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, mentioned that - 22nd October is not just a date in history — it is the day when Pakistan’s army attacked our land, destroyed our villages, and began decades of occupation. It is a day of mourning for every Kashmiri family living under Pakistani control. The residents of PoJK have no political rights. The commoners cannot contest elections unless they sign an oath declaring allegiance to Pakistan and the Two-Nation Theory. He asserts that this is not democracy — it is ideological slavery. For the people of Pakistan-occupied regions, 22 October is not a celebration — it is a wound that refuses to heal. It marks the beginning of a tragedy that still defines their struggle for dignity, democracy, and reunion with their rightful homeland.
