Drive-through COVID-19 testing facility begins in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 26 (ANI): In Chandigarh, a drive-through sampling centre is started by SRL diagnostics to combat COVID-19 pandemic. SRL diagnostics attends 15-20 patients on daily basis. The patients received the test reports within 24 hours. The private laboratory is identified by the ICMR to conduct COVID-19 tests. Lab Head of SRL Diagnostics said, “Patient is either sitting on fore driver seat or left rear seat of the car, we identify them with identity card, he takes the nasal and throat swaps from the booth itself, there is no aerosol generation, it’s a completely safe procedure.”Once the car moves, lab workers sanitize the area. It’s a fast-track sample collection for COVID-19. This initiative has also made it safer for the patients and healthcare workers.
