Srinagar, July 07 (ANI): Preparation is going on for the festival of Eid-ul-Adha (Baqreid) in Kashmir. People are thronging to the biggest market for buying goats and sheep for the sacrificing ritual during the festival. The biggest market – Eidgah – in downtown of Srinagar is ready for the festival. Many different varieties of animals like Rajasthan, Kaju, Hybrid sheep and Kashmir breeds are available in the market. The sellers take care of the sheep for the entire year. Some people also buy younger animals. The sellers are earning very high profit these days as Muslims need animals for sacrificing rituals during Eid-ul-Adha. Muslims sacrifice animals (Qurbani) on the day to honour Ibrahim’s spirit of sacrificing by giving up something you hold dear in devotion to God. It is also mandatory to share the meat of the sacrificed animals in three equal parts for yourself, family and friends, and for the poor people.
