Fukushima hosts Japanese language composition contest for foreigners

Fukushima (Japan), Jan 05 (ANI): The Reconstruction Agency organised Japanese language composition contest for foreigners with a Fukushima theme in order to hasten the recognition of Fukushima's recovery. It invited the top nine winners to Fukushima and nominated them. It seeks to increase understanding of the current Fukushima. They visited Memorial Museum of Great earthquake. The area was affected by 16.5 meters high Tsunami in 2011. A museum was also constructed in the damaged area. It transmits painful memory and recovering situation year by year. Ukedo elementary school was suffered by Tsunami. School building is preserved as it was. Fortunately, 82 school pupils escaped from Tsunami safely lead by teacher’s navigation. Ohirayama cemetery is enshrined sacrifice of Tsunami. On that day Tsunami attacked and next day radiation warning of Fukushima nuclear power plant was issued including compulsory evacuation.
