Ganga Utsav 2021: Cultural programmes, book releases mark the celebrations

New Delhi, Nov 02 (ANI): Books to spread awareness about preserving the holy Ganga along with cultural performances mark the Day 2 of Ganga Utsav 2021 in New Delhi. Two books titled ‘Celebrating the Spirits of Rivers’ and ‘Ganga Ki Baat Chacha Chaudhary ke Saath’ were launched. Minister of State for Jal Shakti of India, Prahlad Singh Patel and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region of India, G Kishan Reddy graced the second day of Ganga Utsav. This year, the Ganga Utsav is being celebrated as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ where some 75 events at different locations throughout the country are being organised. A documentary film on the Ganga called 'Ganga - River from the Skies' was showcased. The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) is organising the 5th edition of three-day Ganga Utsav 2021 to promote the cleaning of Ganga and its tributaries. The festival is being developed with an aim to join people for their contribution towards preserving rivers in the country. With the theme of "Transforming mindsets to change the fate of Ganga and other rivers", a webinar was also conducted to highlight the significance, economic, cultural and religious values of river Ganga.
