Gas has been neutralized, FIR registered: Visakhapatnam CP on Andhra gas leak incident

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, the Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam City, Rajeev Kumar Meena said, “Gas has been neutralized. NDRF team has reached the spot. Maximum impact was in about 1-1.5 kms but smell was till 2-2.5 kms. 100-120 people have been shifted to hospital. Total three persons have died in the incident. An FIR has been registered.” A chemical gas leakage has been reported in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam on May 07. The incident took place at LG Polymers industry in RR Venkatapuram village of Visakhapatnam. According to the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), 3 persons, including one child were declared dead due to the chemical gas leakage. People were being taken to hospital after they complained of burning sensation in eyes and breathing difficulties. Police, fire tenders and ambulances reached the spot.
