Geneva: Afghan Diaspora groups hold anti-Taliban protest, blame Pakistan for crisis in Afghanistan

Sep 22, 2021

Geneva (Switzerland), Sep 22, 2021, (ANI): The Afghan Diaspora from Europe assembled at the Broken Chair in front of the United Nations office in Geneva to protest against Taliban and the interference of Pakistan for fuelling the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan. The protest was held during the ongoing 48th Session of the UN Human Rights Council. The protesters highlighted the issues of Human Rights violations by the Taliban and the suppression of Women Rights. The Afghan diaspora mostly consisted of the refugees from Afghanistan who had to flee their nation before the fall of Kabul on 15 August to the Taliban. As thousands of vulnerable Afghans are still stuck in Afghanistan under serious threat to their life from the extreme Taliban regime, the protesters demanded the UN to take up the case of issuing amnesty cards to vulnerable Afghans.
