“Give up arms, come back …” Dawood Ahmad, brother of terrorist appeals as he casts vote in Sopore

Sopore (J&K), May 20 (ANI): Dawood Ahmad Mir, Brother of active terrorist, made an appeal to his brother to give up arms from the polling booth in J&K’s Baramulla on May 20. Voting is underway in Jammu & Kashmir’s Baramulla parliamentary constituency as part of the Phase 5 of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Dawood Mir requested the Lt. Governor of J&K to release two of his brothers who are in jail. Dawood Ahmad Mir voted on May 20 with his full family. Dawood Ahmad Mir said, “I came here to vote for the development of the village. Most of the people are here to vote for the development of the village. My brother is a militant, he is the commander of this area. We don’t know where is he? We have tried our best to locate him but we couldn’t find him. Whenever we would be able to contact him we will request him to surrender. Two of my brothers are in jail. I request the Governor to release them, what is there fault in one brother being militant. My father and whole family is here to vote, so that my two brothers can be released from the jail and there can be development in the village.”
