Grateful to India for standing by Afghanistan during difficult times: Envoy

Attari-Wagah Border, Feb 22 (ANI): Foreign Secretary of India, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, along with Afghanistan’s Ambassador to India, Farid Mamundzay flagged off the first consignment of humanitarian aid carrying 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan via the Attari-Wagah Border near Punjab’s Amritsar on February 22. “We are grateful to the Government of India that they stood by Afghanistan during difficult times. 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat will be delivered in a month to the country and will be distributed to Afghan people facing food scarcity,” said Afghan Envoy Farid Mamundzay.
