Gujarat Govt Officer Chases Paralympic Glory

Ram Singh Padhiyar, Assistant Director in the Gujarat Information Department, is balancing public service with an international para-athletics career. The 33-year-old trains at the SAG Sports Complex in Nadiad and has won more than 23 national and international medals, including bronze at the 2023 Asian Para Games and silver at the 2024 World Para Athletics event. Backed by Gujarat Government initiatives such as the Shaktidoot Scheme, he continues to prepare for the 2026 Asian Para Games and the 2028 Paralympics. Ram Singh says his sole aim is to win a Paralympic medal for India and make Gujarat proud, proving that determination and discipline can overcome every challenge.
