Health Ministry confirms total 1,637 COVID-19 cases and 38 deaths

New Delhi, Apr 01(ANI): Health Ministry, Joint Secretary, Lav Agarwal informed that till date India has reported total 1,637 COVID-19 cases. He further said that this number includes 386 new positive cases since yesterday. On the death toll, the Joint Secretary said that there have been 38 deaths due to coronavirus pandemic. On the increase in number of positive cases, Lav Agarwal said, "The no. of positive cases has gone up since yesterday. One of main reasons for it is the travel by members of Tablighi Jamat." He further added that "the increase does not represent the national trend but if there is failure at our end then increase in the number is obvious." The Health Ministry confirmed that so far 132 people have been recovered from COVID-19.
