Houses under PMAY in full swing in J&K’s Udhampur district

Udhampur(J&K), June 23(ANI): Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) with the mission and vision “Housing for All”, the government of Jammu and Kashmir is taking comprehensive steps to provide shelter to the urban poor. Speaking to ANI, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Udhampur Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary said, “We have a target of 13, 000 houses to be complete till march 2022. We have completed 28 percent of the houses and the rest of construction is underway. He added that earlier we face a problem and work was slowed down due to unavailability of raw material but now mining issues are determined and work is in progress. Under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) labours are employed for the construction of houses under PMAY, we have given employment to 60,000 Job Card Holder in the previous year all over Udhampur District.”
