“In India, you will always find a friend…” Ruchira Kamboj quotes Jaishankar at UNSC

India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, while addressing UNSC Open Debate: Peace and security in Africa- Silencing the Guns in Africa, highlighted factors that continue to drive conflict in Africa especially the Horn of Africa. Ruchira Kamboj exhorted member countries to “come together and support African efforts in Silencing the Guns by the end of this decade.” She also stated India’s support to African countries through multiple development partnerships and capacity-building programs. She said, “India will continue to support our African brethren in their quest for sustainable peace.” While stating she quoted External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and said he had aptly said, “In India, you will always find a friend, willing to stand with you through thick and thin.”
