Karnataka govt to bring new scholarship scheme for farmers’ children

Bengaluru (Karnataka), July 28 (ANI): Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj S Bommai in a press conference briefed media persons about various schemes on July 28. “I took the cabinet and officials' meet after taking charge. In officials meeting, I've told them about our agenda. New scholarship scheme will be brought for the children of farmers with Rs 1000 crores,” said CM Bommai. He added, “The Old Age Pension under Sandhya Suraksha scheme will be increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 1200 at additional cost of Rs 863.52 cr helping 35.98 lakh people.” “Widow Pension has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 800 helping 17.25 lakh beneficiaries. Financial assistance for Divyang people is increased from Rs 600 to Rs 800 helping 3.66 lakh beneficiaries,” he further added.
