Kerala to start rapid test for coronavirus from tomorrow, says state Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 04 (ANI): Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja informed that 9 labs are conducting polymerase chain reaction tests in Kerala, and the state government will start rapid test from tomorrow. “9 labs are conducting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests in Kerala. We've received 2000 rapid test kits and will start rapid tests from tomorrow. If a person tests positive in rapid test, we need to confirm it with PCR test. Even if a person is found negative for #COVID19 in rapid test, they need to complete the 14 days mandatory quarantine period. There are 295 cases in Kerala out of which 251 cases are active,” said Shailaja on the preparedness to battle COVID-19 pandemic.
