Former Tibetan Prime Minister-in-Exile Lobsang Sangay highlighted the achievements of the Tibetan government-in-exile in preserving Tibetan culture, language, and identity through a strong education system established in India. He noted that Tibetan-run schools, from kindergarten to college level, continue to provide quality education, with most institutions now being managed independently by Tibetan teachers and staff after being handed over by the Indian government. Sangay stated that the Tibetan community in India, Nepal, and Bhutan has been successful in maintaining its cultural roots, while acknowledging that preserving Tibetan identity poses greater challenges for younger generations living in Western countries such as the United States, Canada, and across Europe due to different education systems and social environments.
