Locals forced to cross river on broken wooden bridge in UP’s Basti

Basti (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 15 (ANI): The people of Majha Kalan and adjacent villages of Uttar Pradesh’s Basti division cross river on a wooden bridge. A portion of the wooden bridge has recently collapsed. People are forced to take this route as there is no other choice for them even if it rains. While speaking to ANI, one of the local said, “There are 10-12 villages here. We are scared for our children but there is no other choice but to take this route even if it rains.” On the other side, Divisional Commissioner of Basti, Anil Kumar Sagar said, “No proposal for a bridge there had come yet. Since it has come to our knowledge that a wooden bridge is being used there it will be seen what can be the traffic density there. Appropriate steps will be taken accordingly.”
