Migrant labourers get food, water by Moradabad police on their way to homes

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 28 (ANI): Hundreds of migrant labourers who had left Delhi by foot after the imposition of nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic reached Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad on March 28, and were seen getting police help there in terms of essential food items and water. A police official told ANI that he is following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to help nine people during the holy festival of Navratri, by distributing food packets and water to the migrant labourers who are on their way to their respective homes by foot or on rickshaw. One of the migrant labourers, Roshan Kumar, said he his travelling to his hometown in Bihar via a rickshaw, and had left Delhi since he had no money or nothing to eat there.
