NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankar elected as new Vice President of India

New Delhi, Aug 06 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance’s candidate Jagdeep Dhankar was declared the Vice President of India on August 06. “NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankar bagged 528 of the total 725 votes that were cast. While 15 were termed invalid, Opposition candidate Margaret Alva received 182 votes in the election,” announced Lok Sabha General Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh. Jagdeep Dhankar was pitted against the Opposition nominee Margaret Alva. The VP Election was scheduled for August 06 and the result too was declared the same day.
