Over 2.80 lakh migrants returned to UP through 233 trains: Govt

Lucknow (UP), May 12 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi on May 12 informed about the latest developments of the state in regards to migrants who have returned amid the COVID-19 lockdown. While briefing the media persons, he said that 233 trains have brought 2,81,408 migrant workers to the state till date. “Today 12 trains have arrived till now and more will come in the coming days. All the passengers will be screened and medical checkups will be conducted,” said Awasthi.
