New Delhi, Mar 15 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar during the Rajya Sabha session on March 15 reacted on the Oxford University's racism row and said that as land of Mahatma Gandhi, India can never turn eyes away from racism. Rashmi Sawant, who is the first Indian woman to be elected president of Oxford Students’ Union, resigned from the post after her old social-media posts came to light and were branded as ‘insensitive’ and ‘racist.’ Speaking further, he said that India has strong ties with United Kingdom and will take up such matters with great candour when required. “We will monitor these developments very very closely. We will raise it when required and we will always champion the fight against racism and other forms of intolerance,” EAM Jaishankar added.
