Pakistan based cheating racket in name of KBC lottery busted by Delhi Police

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): In a major breakthrough, a team of Cyber Crime Unit has arrested three persons for running a major scam that is believed to have affected scores of people across the country. The accused persons have been identified as Imtiaz Ali Sonu, Irfan Ali and Santosh Kumar. The accused persons have been working in collusion with some Pakistani nationals to dupe several people from various parts of the country of their lifelong savings in the name of Kaun Banega Crorepati lottery worth Rs. 25 lakhs. A complaint was received at Cyber Crime Unit (CyPAD), Delhi in which the complainant, a resident of Najafgarh, Delhi, alleged that she got a WhatsApp call from a Pakistani number and the caller told her that her mobile number had won the Kaun Banega Crorepati lottery worth Rs. 25 lakhs. The unsuspecting victim fell prey to the scam and the scammers on the pretext of GST charges, processing fees, etc. induced her to deposit several lakhs of rupees in several Indian bank accounts. On receiving the complaint, the team of CyPAD arrested the three accused from Gopalganj District of Bihar.
