Peace rally organised on Gandhi Jayanti in Srinagar city

Srinagar(Jammu & Kashmir), Oct 11 (ANI): - Every year the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi are recalled and celebrated on the 2nd of October on his birth anniversary. This year, in Srinagar city of Jammu & Kashmir a peace rally was carried out by people of all communities showcasing the bond of brotherhood between them and remembering the great freedom fighter. Carried out in the famous Lal Chowk area of Jammu & Kashmir summer capital, the rally aimed at propagating Bapu’s messages of Non-violence and peace. People of all castes and communities took part in the rally. Participants were seen holding a big banner which read “Kashmir Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti, March for Peace and Prosperity in Kashmir ''. India observes October 02 not only as Gandhi Jayanti (Gandhi's birth anniversary) but also as International Day of Non-Violence, the ideal that Gandhi fought for throughout his life.
