PM Poshan Scheme to provide mid-day meal to students of 11.2 lakh schools

New Delhi, Sep 29 (ANI): During the Union Cabinet briefing Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur informed that Union Cabinet gave nod to start PM POSHAN scheme to provide mid-day meal to students of more than 11.20 lakh Government and Government-aided schools across the country. The scheme will run for 5 years and the budget will amount to Rs 1,30,794.90 crore. “PM POSHAN scheme will subsume the existing Midday Meal Scheme. The scheme will be run in partnership with State Governments but the major contribution will be of the Central Government,” added Thakur.
