PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Gujarat Emerges as India's No. 1 State in Rooftop Solar Adoption

Gujarat has emerged as India's leading state in rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, transforming households through clean and affordable energy. Families across the state are reducing electricity expenses while meeting their daily power needs through solar energy. Beneficiaries like Ashok from Kudasan and Rimpal Patel from Raysan highlight how government support and subsidies have made solar installations accessible and cost-effective. Under the scheme, subsidies of up to ₹78,000 have encouraged wider adoption. Gujarat has received over 10.84 lakh applications, installed rooftop solar systems in more than 6.92 lakh homes, generated over 2,487 MW of green energy, and transferred ₹5,123 crores through Direct Benefit Transfer, advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
