PoJK Students Unite in Protest Against Fee Hike and Poor Transport Facilities
Nov 12, 2025
In a strong display of student unity, representatives from all student organisations of higher educational institutions protested against the recent administrative decisions affecting students in Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir. The protest meeting came in response to the university’s administration decision to raise fees by 50 per cent to 80 per cent, a move that has sparked widespread outrage among students. Despite repeated appeals and formal applications urging the administration to reconsider, the authorities have allegedly remained unresponsive. Students also voiced deep concern over the lack of adequate transport facilities, which they claim has led to frequent overcrowding and accidents on campus routes. Several incidents of students being injured due to overloading were cited during the protest. According to student representatives, if their concerns continue to be ignored, they plan to intensify their agitation in the coming days. The protest marks a growing sense of unrest within the campus, as students seek accountability and reform within the university administration.
