PoK: Students, teachers protest against corrupt education system

Nov 30, 2022

Muzaffarabad, PoK, 30 November 2022: - A large number of students of Mirpur board took to streets in Muzaffarabad of Pakistan occupied Kashmir to demonstrate against the government for its negligence towards the region’s education system. They demanded the government to introduce reforms in education and bring transparency in the assessment process. Over seven decades of so-called ‘independence’ have passed and people in Pakistan occupied Kashmir still lead a life of neglect and deprivation. Education in particular has borne the major brunt of discriminatory policies of Pakistan. Some say the policies are essentially framed to keep the people of the region marginalized. Pleas and demands of teachers and students have gone unheard. This systematic oppression coupled with widespread corruption has led to a major section of PoK’s populace remaining undereducated.
