Rajasthan government aims to send 20,000 senior citizens on pilgrimage

Jaipur (Rajasthan) December 13 (ANI):The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan is running the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme for the senior citizens of the state. Under this scheme, senior citizens of the state have made a free pilgrimage to famous pilgrimage places of the country. In the budget of 2022, the state government has set a target of providing pilgrimage to 20 thousand senior citizens of the state. Under this, 1,080 senior citizens departed on a pilgrimage to TirupatiBalaji from Jaipur by train. Free food, snacks and medicines are arranged by the government for senior citizens during the yatra. A team of 2 doctors, 4 nursing personnel and two escorts is present in each coach of the train to take care of the pilgrims. Not only this, couples above 75 years of age can also take their family members as helpers during the yatra.So far in 2022, 6,970 people have travelled to different pilgrimage sites under this scheme of the Rajasthan government.
