Ram Navami Shobha Yatra conducted in peaceful manner at Jahangirpuri: Delhi Police

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): A ‘Shobha Yatra’ was taken out on March 30 at Delhi's Jahangirpuri amid heavy police deployment. Speaking on the same, Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Jitendra Kumar Meena said that the Yatra was conducted in a peaceful manner under the guidelines issued by Police. “It was a small Yatra under intact security arrangements. People have started dispersing and it was a peaceful and successful Yatra. No incident took place it was conducted under guidelines prescribed by Police,” said DCP Meena. Earlier, Delhi Police had denied permission to hold the Yatra and Ramzan prayers in the Jahangirpuri area, however, later, permission was granted to conduct the procession from a nearby park and adjourning areas. On April 16 last year, clashes broke out between two communities in the area during a Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra.
