“Russia, China refused to sign…”: Blinken recalls peace resolution at UNGA to end Ukraine war

Mar 02, 2023

New Delhi, Mar 02 (ANI): As the Russia-Ukraine crisis remains one of the major global concerns of several countries for the past one year, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on March 02 recalled the peace resolution calling for an end to the war and demanding that Russia leave Ukrainian territory. “141 countries voted in the United Nations General Assembly for resolution that expresses support for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in accordance with the UN charter. Not a single G20 member voted with Russia to oppose that resolution. Russia and China were the only 2 countries that made it clear that they would not sign on that text,” Blinken said. Russia is under a lot of criticism from almost all the countries over its attack on Ukraine that was launched in February last year. The war has not only affected Ukraine but also the rest of the countries in an indirect way.
