New Delhi, Oct 23 (ANI): Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, said “We are very disturbed about what’s happening in Jammu and Kashmir. There have been targeted killings for the last few weeks. Hindus and Sikhs have been picked for killing though others have also suffered and one and two locals were killed as well. I just want to stress that on these matters are not political. It is about keeping the country safe, keeping Kashmir safe. We really have felt for some times that the people of Kashmir deserve peace, deserve a normal life.” “Nobody has forgotten the painful 1990, I don’t think we can allow this to continue and I hope the government will take effective measures. The responsibility is on the Central Government. The responsibility is theirs, they converted Kashmir into Union Territory and are ruling directly from Delhi. So the finger is pointing at the right place. Home Minister being there is right thing to do and he now has to take decisive steps,” he added.
