Stubble burning incidents dip in Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner

Ludhiana (Punjab), Oct 19 (ANI): Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma has claimed that paddy straw burning practice declined in the district this year. “As a result of government subsidies and surveillance, there has been a drop in paddy straw burning cases this year, for which we have provided a subsidy of Rs 54 crore. In comparison to last year, we have delivered 600 paddy straw machines, up from 40-48 last year,” said DC Varinder Kumar Sharma.
