Tamil Nadu Forestry Training College trains squad of native dogs

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), June 29 (ANI): The Tamil Nadu Forest Department started initiative to train native breeds for dog squad. These dogs are been given special training at Tamil Nadu Forestry Training College in Theni. Anti-hunting guards have been appointed to take care of them and take them to forest crime sites. Dogs belonging to the breeds of Kanni, Kombai, Chittiparai and Parai are given 3 months training in sniffing, protection and surveillance, among other skills. The department is the first in the country to have inducted native breeds to detect wildlife crimes.
