Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurates Mukti Ghat crematorium for three faiths in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, December 6 (ANI): Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban Development and Information Technology KT Rama Rao on December 06 inaugurated a unique facility for the funeral rites of departed souls belonging to three major faiths. Developed by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Mukti Ghat is a funeral place in Fathullaguda that can accommodate last rites according to Hindu, Muslim and Christian faiths. The crematorium facility is spread across 6.5 acres of land, built at a cost of Rs 16.25 crores by HMDA. The modern crematorium allocates 2 acres of land for Muslim Qabarasthan, 2 acres for Christian Cemetery and 2.5 acres for Hindu Crematorium. It also includes prayer halls, separate bathrooms, a greenhouse, a special room for performing the final rites of the deceased, a power supply with 140-kilowatt capacity solar power, and a special sewage plant. Equipped with technology, the place facilitates live streaming of the ongoing rituals for those in other countries to see the cremation of their relatives virtually.
