Top Iranian diplomats summoned over attack on merchant vessels that killed 1 Indian & left 6 injured

New Delhi, July 14, 2026 (ANI): Iranian diplomats including Deputy Chief of Mission Mohammad Javad Hosseini, summoned over attack on merchant vessels in Hormuz near Oman. The UAE Ministry of Defence on Tuesday informed said that its two national tankers, Mombasa and Al Bahiyah, were struck by two Iranian cruise missiles. The UAE MoD further informed that the attack killed one Indian crew member aboard the Mombasa and injured eight others, including six Indian nationals. In response to the attack and killing of Indian nationals on UAE merchant vessel, the Indian ministry of external affairs has summoned top Iranian envoys in India.
