June 22, 2026: ANI: New Delhi: Canadian Envoy to India Christopher Cooter made a big remark while pushing for strong critical minerals partnership with India, Also while speaking to ANI about how realistic the timeline is to conclude the India-Canada CEPA negotiations by year-end, the Canadian High Commissioner said, “I think it is very realistic... Probably the most important one is that our two Prime Ministers want it to happen. They have now said this a couple of times, most recently on the margins... at the G7 meeting in France last week. And our negotiators have been actively discussing what this would look like over the last few months. So the political will is there. We want to do this. We know we need it... Canada is traditionally focused on free trade... We have got back to work on negotiating this year, and I think it will happen... the business community also wants this to happen... what it accomplishes for the two sides is... it deals with things like tariffs, which can hinder trade... We have had ups and downs in our relationship, but we have never had a clear signal... There is an enormous scope here..."
