New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): Responding to the missile strikes by Iran on US targets in Iraq, Iranian Ambassador to India, Dr Ali Chegeni, said that Iran is not looking for war. He said, “Whatever we have done is a part of our response. Millions of people who participated in the funeral of General Qassem Soleimani had demanded the government for it. We have done it. We are not looking for war.” Further adding on India’s role in ongoing US-Iran tension, Chegeni added, “India is a part of the region. It should be a part of de-escalation. We are welcoming any initiative from our good friends from India.” Tensions between US and Iran escalated after Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force was killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport on January 03.
