UP will continue to take action against mafia under Gangsters Act: ACS Home Awanish K Awasthi

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), April 02 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the UP Police to continue to take action against the mafia under the Gangsters Act, however no action is to be taken against the weak and innocent, informed the UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish K Awasthi on April 01 in Lucknow. “The CM has directed that as Navratri begins from tomorrow, foot patrolling by all Police officers to be done for 1 hour daily in their jurisdiction for 100 days. He also directed that in every city with large temple, cleanliness and drinking water must definitely be ensured,” Awasthi said. “We'll continue to take action against mafia under the Gangsters Act. The CM has directed to see that action is not taken against innocent and weak. The 'Bulldozer Action' to be taken against mafia only. We'll now monitor 50 Mafia, as against 25 earlier,” he added.
