“Will face consequences…” says Manipur CM N Biren Singh over Army soldier getting injured in unprovoked firing

Imphal (Manipur), June 19 (ANI): An Indian Army soldier was injured after armed miscreants resorted to unprovoked firing. The incident took place while the soldier was enroute to Kanto Sabal from Chingmang village. The soldier sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to Military Hospital Leimakhong and is currently stable. Speaking to the media persons, Manipur CM urged to stop the violence and appealed to maintain peace in the state. The Indian Army conducted a flag march in the violence-affected area in Imphal Valley on June 18. In order to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items including medicines and food items. Authorities in Imphal East district on June 17 decided to relax curfew hours from 5 am to 5 pm on June 18. The state government has further extended the shutdown of internet in the state up to June 20.
