Work on war-footing to ensure water connections to every rural household: Rajasthan CM directs officials

Jaipur (Rajasthan) March 11 (ANI): Reviewing the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ of the Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot instructed the officials to work on war footing to provide drinking water connections to every household in rural areas of the state. The CM directed to form committees up to village level and tender process at various levels should be completed in a time-bound manner under the mission. Besides that, he gave instructions to make adequate arrangements for the smooth supply of drinking water during the summer days. He asserted that along with giving impetus to the works of Jal Jeevan Mission, the focus should be on the quality of work. He said that people's participation has been ensured at the local level in the mission plan itself. Emphasis should be given to awareness campaigns to connect the common man with the mission. Under the mission, a target has been set to provide drinking water connections to 1.01 crore houses in more than 43,000 villages across the state.
