World Crafts Council team reviews Srinagar’s potential for inclusion in World Craft Cities

Srinagar, April 19 (ANI): Srinagar is expected to be on the list of world craft cities with the help of unique and high-quality craftwork. For that purpose, the World Crafts Council (WCC) sent its three-member jury team to Srinagar to revive the potential of crafts for inclusion in the prestigious list of world craft cities. They visited textile units, markets, wood carving, crewel work, copper art units and others. The people who associated with the industry are trying their best to show their work to get entry into World Craft Cities. Notably, Kashmir valley has a huge demand for art and craft work and is very popular at National and International levels. Jammu and Kashmir government has also been doing different initiatives for the promotion of handicraft sector and crafts done by prominent artisans. Artisans and other stakeholders are expecting positive results from the three-member jury and they are hopeful that this step will bring revolution in the handicraft sector.
