WTO DG congratulates PM Modi for achieving 1 billion COVID vaccination target

New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): India crossed 1 billion vaccination target on October 21. Speaking on it, Director-General of World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials for achieving the target and called it a “huge achievement.” “I think it's absolutely significant that India has achieved a 1 billion doses target. I want to congratulate the government, PM Narendra Modi, Health Minister, my colleague the Commerce Minister, everyone. This is a huge achievement in very short period of time. Since we've seen that the more you can vaccinate the population the faster you can also recover from the pandemic economically, I think it's a great signal. We can see that India is rebounding very fast with respect to economy, So, it's very good,” said Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
