An anti-Naxal operation in the deep forests of Abujhmaad has resulted in the recovery of three Naxal bodies and the death of one C60 commando, according to a statement released by Gadchiroli Police on February 6. Security forces retrieved two Naxal bodies this morning, bringing the total number of Naxals killed in the encounter to three. Authorities also recovered one AK-47 rifle and one SLR (Self-Loading Rifle) from the site. The identities of the deceased Naxals have yet to be established.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team on Friday arrived at the blast site in Thangskai area of Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills to carry out rescue and recovery operations after an explosion in an illegal rat-hole coal mine that claimed 18 lives.
