Assam: FIR filed against state BJP Chief Dilip Saikia over alleged voter list manipulation

The FIR follows allegations that Dilip Saikia, during an internal video conference on January 4, instructed party workers to prepare lists of people who did not vote for the BJP in 60 Assembly constituencies and to make arrangements for deleting their names from the electoral rolls.

West Bengal Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari on Friday sent a legal notice to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, demanding that she produce alleged evidence against him within 72 hours over her recent remarks linking him to the coal smuggling case. Adhikari has warned that failure to do so would compel him to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceedings for defamation.
